 2018 Preview 


       Susan Moore completed the 2017 season with a 4-6 record. Last year Susan Moore just missed making the playoffs with a fifth place finish in Class 3A region six with a 2-4 region record.

       Since 2010, Susan Moore has gone a combined 33-50. Their 40.0% winning percentage ranks 40th in Class 3A over the past eight seasons.

       Over the past 25 seasons, Susan Moore has managed to compile a record of 132-127. Their 51.0% winning percentage ranks 28th in Class 3A and 175th in the AHSAA.




       The Bulldogs are led by head coach Heath Lauderdale who is entering his second season at the helm. His team finished with a 4-6 record in his first season at Susan Moore. The Bulldogs saw improvement from a 2-8 record the season before coach Lauderdale arrived. The Bulldogs have yet to reach the playoffs under his direction. They have not won a region crown with Coach Lauderdale.

       Coach Lauderdale's overall record as a head football coach in one season stands at 4-6 (40.0%).

       The Susan Moore Bulldogs will play in Class 3A region seven during the 2018 season. Following realignment, the Bulldogs remain in 3A but move from region six over to region seven.

       With a little luck and some improvement, the Bulldogs could find themselves challenging for one of the playoff spots for region seven this season. Susan Moore missed the playoffs the past couple of seasons but hope to return to the post season in 2018.

       The Bulldogs open the 2018 season on the road against non-region opponent West End Walnut Grove on Thursday, August 23 at Patriot Stadium. Last year the West End Walnut Grove Patriots finished with an overall record of 3-7 and in fifth place in Class 2A region seven. The Patriots closed out the regular season with a loss to Ashville by a score of 40-28.

       Susan Moore and West End Walnut Grove have met a total of 43 times on the football field. The Bulldogs have a 19-24-0 record against the Patriots. They last met in 2017 with West End Walnut Grove winning by a score of 21-19.
